I love youtube.
“Being There”, Tord Gustavsen Trio- Oh man, What a great album. From the eerie familiarity you feel when you first hear “At Home” (It feels like a song your heart has sung before, but your ear has never heard) to the sheer awesomeness that is “Blessed Feet” (one of my new faves). The Tord Trio just goes to prove that bigger music isn’t always better music. Sometimes chamber music is better than giant symphonic orchestras. The trio can explore interesting and intimate ideas way better than any bigger jazz ensemble could.
“Complete Beethoven Symphonies”, Philadelphia Orchestra- What Can you say? A great recording of a large chunk of the Beethoven canon. Worth the 35 bucks on itunes. Go get it.

“Sky Diaries”, Crepusculum- Awesome stuff. Cool to do schoolwork to. Really amazing the atmosphere he can create with what he works with. I have a huge stack of music that I have to go through that I will write up soon.
In the stack:
Burial, Untrue
The Field, From here we go sublime
The “Juno” Soundtrack
The new recording of Mahler’s 9th that is all the rage
Radiohead, In rainbows (heard a bit of this… I can tell it is amazing already)
Celtic Women, A new journey
Ornette Coleman, The Shape of Jazz to come
The Complete Prestige Recordings, Sonny Rollins
The Reminder, Feist
So that is what is going on with me musically. Hoping to be able to afford a good Book on Jazz history soon.
